Biography
Susan has been working with the owners of small and medium businesses for 20 years, helping them increase the financial value of their companies while freeing them to have more time for family, friends, and community activities. The increases in company value come from three specific focuses:
- Integrating new thinking to diversify products and services and increase margins
- Writing and executing financial strategies that promote growth and value. (e.g., EBITDA, not tax savings)
- Capitalizing on every aspect of the company’s current assets: buyers, offerings and employees. She calls this “Think INSIDE the box.”
Whether an exit is imminent or the owner(s) are taking the longer view, Susan will help them increase their focus and energy on innovations for future growth, nurturing relationships with their best buyers and increasing the value of their life’s work.
Before founding Trivers Consulting Group, Susan owned Café Aurora in Alexandria, VA; was an Adjunct Professor of Finance and Economics at the University of Bridgeport, CT; and served as President of the DC Chapter of the National Speakers Association. She is the author of Tinker: How Smart Business Owners Develop Creative Ideas for True Growth
Susan is a long-time owner of Bernese Mountain Dogs. She is now competing with her current boy, Gabe, in Rally and Obedience.
